VITAMIN D

Check your Vitamin D status. 40% of Americans are chronically Vit D deficient. Vit D plays an important role in the immune response system. Sunshine is the best source of Vit D, but not if you’re wearing sunscreen. Dietary sources of Vit D are fatty fish like salmon and trout and supplemental fish oils. Mushrooms also contain some Vit D. Most people need to take a Vit D3 supplement. Follow your physician’s advice for dosage. Take Vit D3 with meals, preferably with meals containing fat, as the Vit D will absorb better.
